Malunggay Leaves for Stomach Ulcer

Malunggay (a.k.a Moringa) is known all over the world for its healing properties, nutritional value, and energy booster of the human body. It contains a bunch of health benefits that our body needs. Stomach Ulcer is also known as gastric ulcers, are painful sores in the stomach lining. It occurs when the protective mucus that lines the stomach becomes ineffective.

Gastric ulcer is usually caused by a failure in the immune system that allows bacteria (Helicobacter pylori) to infect the stomach leading to severe inflammation and breaks in the tissue lining of the stomach walls which leads to interference with the normal production and regulation of gastric acids, creating excessive acid that eats away the stomach wall lining over time.

Although the most common symptom of a stomach ulcer is a burning or gnawing pain in the center of the abdomen. Not all stomach ulcers are painful. Some people may experience indigestion, heartburn, and nausea.

Malunggay is proven to help heal gastric ulcers which are a painful and debilitating digestive system disorder. They are also known as peptic ulcers, inflammations, and irritations of the stomach wall, which can cause painful symptoms and serious complications.

The Malunggay leaf extracts showed gastric ulcer healing effects in acetic acid-induced chronic gastric ulcers. The acetone extract and methanol extract of the leaves produced the gastric antisecretory effect in pylorus-ligated rats and showed gastric cytoprotective effect in ethanol-induced and indomethacin-induced gastric ulcers. The leaf extracts also produced a significant reduction of stress-induced gastric ulcers and cysteamine-induced duodenal ulcers. None of the extracts of the fruits showed any significant antiulcer effect. It was concluded that the leaves of Malunggay increase the healing of gastric ulcers and also prevent the development of experimentally induced gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers in rats.

Here is a Do It Yourself recipe to cure stomach ulcers with Malungay leaves.

Use fresh moringa leaves, homemade cures or yogurt and water.
Take one cup of fresh moringa (drumstick) leaves.
Clean the leaves and add them to a blender.
Add little water.
Take 2 teaspoons of yogurt in a bowl.
Add 2 teaspoons of moringa leaves the paste to it.
Mix it well.
Done.
